Man charged with attempted vehicle theft A 40-year old Mankato man, who was arrested by St. Peter Police on August 25 for allegations he had attempted to steal a vehicle before being confronted by residents of that area, has been formally charged.

MSOP patient charged for threatening letters A 24-year old patient with the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center has been charged with a felony for allegedly sending threatening letters to an Apple Valley woman in February.

Accident on Rabbit Road Kasota firefighters stand ready to extinguish any flames that might flair at a one-vehicle rollover along the Rabbit Road between St. Peter and Kasota on Friday afternoon. Also responding at the scene were Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, St. Peter Police, River’s Edge Ambulance and Von Essen Towing. As of press time, information detailing the accident was not available from the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office.

Vandals target laundromat St. Peter Police are investigating a criminal damage to property report from the Witty Laundromat, located on the 100 block of South Minnesota Avenue, which happened sometime between Aug. 5 and Aug. 12.

Vintage baseball played The St. Croix Base Ball Club, vintage baseball team, traveled to Lafayette on Saturday to take on a rag-tag band of St. Peter baseball misfits in a game won by St. Croix by a comfortable margin. Winners aplenty in Pedal Pull A large group of kids took part in the Nicollet County Fair’s annual Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull on Saturday morning with a large crowd of spectators also on hand to cheer the young competitors on during the event.

Clean river group accepts award A program designed to prevent pollution at its source has been awarded the Governor’s Award for Pollution Prevention. The Community Clean Ups for Water Quality program has been active in over 28 communities in the Minnesota River Basin and to date has prevented over 8400 lbs of phosphorus and nitrogen from entering the river from storm sewer runoff.
